Contest of Young Authors and Best Poster Award

To foster the development of young nuclear professionals, a traditional contest for best papers prepared by first authors aged no more than 32 years was organized. This year a record-breaking 22 young authors from 7 countries participated in the contest and the Award for Young Authors. For the outstanding effort and enthusiasm shown in the preparation of the paper the Award was presented to:

Martin Draksler from Jožef Stefan Institute (Slovenia) for the paper A numerical investigation on a submerged, axis-symmetric jet impingement (co-authored by Boštjan Končar)
and
Marco Pecchia from University of Pisa (Italy) for the paper Development and Application of MCNP5 & KENO-VI Monte Carlo models for the ATUCHA-2 PHWR analysis (co-authored by Carlo Parisi, Francesco D'Auria and Oscar Mazzantini)

Following the tradition of previous two meetings the Best Poster Award was introduced in appreciation of excellence in poster presentation. Three posters were awarded:

"Assessment of Po-210 Ingestion Dose Due to Fish and Squid Consumption from Slovenian Market" by Marko Štrok and Borut Smodiš from Jožef Stefan Institute (Slovenia) "Modelling of Solidification Influence on Steam Explosion Efficiency in MC3D" by Mitja Uršič and Matjaž Leskovar from Jožef Stefan Institute (Slovenia) "Development and Application of MCNP5 & KENO-VI Monte Carlo models for the ATUCHA-2 PHWR analysis" by Marco Pecchia, Carlo Parisi, Francesco D'Auria and Oscar Mazzantini from University of Pisa (Italy)
