Conference trip

Boat trip - View from the sea

While Grand Hotel Bernardin offers a beautiful view of the Slovenian sea, we will also take a glimpse of the beautiful Slovenian coast at the conference trip.

Some information about the Slovenian coast
The Slovenian coast is tiny - it measures only 42 kilometers in length - but that's enough for several beautiful old cities with twisty streets and stone houses that wait to be explored; several well-kept tourist beaches; many wild, desolate places along the coastline where adventurous swimmers will find their little bit of privacy... and much more. In the north it is bordered by the Italian coast, and in the south by the river Dragonja in Croatia.

On the shore there are sight-seeing places, such as:

  • Ankaran - the westernmost tourist town on the Slovenian coast.
  • Koper - a modern and industrial city, but on the other hand also a romantic medieval city with narrow curved streets and old stone houses that reach four or even five floors in height.
  • Izola - a beautiful early-medieval town with genuine Mediterranean architecture, narrow streets and thick stone walls.
  • Piran - the warmest and most sunny Slovenian town, Piran is the pearl of the Slovenian coast. The entire city is protected as a national historical and cultural monument.
  • Portorož - the newest and most tourist-oriented Slovenian coastal town.
Along the coast there are also other attractions, such as the Sečovlje Salt-pans and the Strunjan Cliffs which are with nearly 100 meters of height the tallest cliffs of the Adriatic coast and among the 15 tallest sea cliffs in Europe.

Duration of the program is approximately 3 hours:

  • 14:30 - 14:40 Boarding ship
  • 14:40 - 16:10 Navigation along the Slovenian coast
  • 16:10 - 17:10 Guided tour of Piran
  • 17:10 - 17:30 Return to Bernardin

Price for the accompanying person is 25 EUR.
